From the review of the blu-ray release from SHOUT FACTORY of "The Legend of Hell House"...
"John Hough’s taut, compelling haunted house chiller that’s let down only by a poky electronic score by Brian Hodgson and Delia Derbyshire"
OK, I love this film and the score is by of the most important people in the history of Electronic scoring and I'm here to tell you that this score is OUTSTANDING, it just give the film a sense of DREAD from start to finish and is used very sparingly and to incredible effect.
Get the blu-ray, you'll pull it out every year for HALLOWEEN and it will still be as scary as hell.
Completely agree with Ford about both the movie and the score. Reading Andy's review immediately brought the main titles music to mind. Subtle, but a first-rate electronic score.
Granted Leviathan is pretty dumb, but as a whole it is much more entertaining than the overlong The Abyss, with the messed up and drawn out goofball final act.
