Tonight marked the end to TRUE BLOOD.

For the last 7 years Nathan Barr has been providing the show some outstanding scores that set it apart it from many other programs out there.

The last several episodes have been scored as well as anything else I've heard even during the Golden Age of TV, heartfelt and also interesting and worth deserving an emmy.

BRAVO Nathan, you did an outstanding job and you should take a bow...

Also, if you haven't seen it folks, check out the F/X series THE AMERICANS, he's also doing some pretty incredible work there as well.

IMHO of course.

Yes indeed, Mr. Thaxton! I tuned out of the show after the first season (not exactly my cup of... blood) but was rabid about owning Barr's scores. Thankfully Varese put out very nice albums for seasons one and two, though nothing since! I wonder if these just weren't the sellers that something like Game of Thrones was -- though Watertower now releases those.

For a little support, I would be first in line to buy any La La Land releases for later seasons of Barr's fantastic Gothic score. I always felt that had a slight Western tinge to them, so much so that now I must be begging Mr. Barr to score a Western!

I do remember hearing some interesting music during the later seasons before I ended up giving up on the show. I would have to hear it separate from the show before I can decide if it is worth owning on CD though. Maybe now that the show is finished Barr can get some other interesting projects.

Siriusjr, this is always my "go-to" track if I wanted to show this score off. The two albums that Varese put out are just perfect I think, and this track is simply sublime. I find that it runs through every possible talent of Mr. Barr as a composer within its three-plus minute runtime. Give this one a shot!

The score has been great, even as the show got progressively less so. Great work by Barr!

Totally agree. Barr is a fantastic composer.

I hate--HATE--this show, but I still own the S1 album because the music was so undeniably good.

He can do the big orchestral thing too (HOSTEL PART II is a gem).

Yeah I had the first CD and never got the second. There were some good cues but I never liked listening to the whole thing so I gave mine away recently. I thought some of I think Season 5 was really interesting while I was watching the show but I would need to hear a CD first before jumping on it.
