Howard Shore's HOWE Label is re-releasing 3 of his scores "complete & remastered":
DEAD RINGERS, NAKED LUNCH and CRASH.
Wow, not just one but three Cronenberg movie scores!!! I feel like I've died and gone to interzone!
Even though Dead Ringers benefits the most from an expansion, Naked Lunch is one of my favorite Shore/Cronenberg collabos, can't wait. Crash's album is already good representation, curious as to what was left off.
Cool. Just in time after I found the old Silva compilation of Dead Ringers on eBay.
Yeah, one of those I had been following for ages as well, got it via ebay not too long ago. Might still be useful to hang onto for The Brood and Scanners, though I hope this trend of expansions will continue (and also release "Spider" which is oop).
Really eager for the expansions on these, especially Scanners.
Though I remember there being some pretty interesting unreleased music from Crash as well, and that score is such a strange experience, I'll be looking forward to getting back into that one.
Don't remember much from Naked Lunch that wasn't on the album… more Ornette Coleman Trio improvisations would be cool, though.
I'm keeping all of my originals still, because they were signed by the Maestro.
Amazing. All three are going to be instant purchases from me. I'm most excited for Dead Ringers, as others here are. Crash is possibly my favorite score by Shore, so I'm VERY curious to see what additional content there is (plus to hear that re-mastering) and Naked Lunch's expansion should be interesting!
Anyone remember what/how much is missing from Dead Ringers? I thought the 27min. Silva suite was pretty much inclusive of everything. I love that disc to death, didn't realize it was a rarity - one of the first and last examples of Royal S. Brown's liner note writing, great stuff, worth keeping for his essay alone.
