I dont own any version of The Last Starfighter so am pretty excited to hear its coming out complete.

Awful awful film but i love the score.

I agree with Jeyl. I find the film totally charming and extremely well-acted.

It's a total winner that has yet to find the audience it deserves.

I've always loved it. It cries out for a far better Blu-ray release in terms of AQ and PQ (based on reviews I've read), but I certainly regard it as a minor classic.

It's the best Star Wars knock off. Very enjoyable film. Wonderful performance's with well defined characters. Even the little brother was fun. Of course the score is awesome.

Alex Rogan: It will be a massacre.
Grig: That's the spirit!
Alex Rogan: No, our massacre!

Great moment. Though they said slaughter?

Sad update from Roger

The label closing down or a bereavement in the family would be a sad update. An album being delayed doesn't qualify.

The cast is pretty damn good in this film. Guest and Stewart have a very realistic chemistry that sells their relationship, to the point where the emotional climax of the denouement is more fulfilling than the action climax. O'Herlihy is a riot as the gung-ho iguana, and this was Preston's last film, and he went out on a high note with a nice homage to his signature role.

I had shown Son of the Morning Star along with Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee one semester, and some of the students had tears in their eyes hearing the majestic and elegiac Craig Safan score, so this is the one I am really looking forward to seeing redone in its full splendor.

By the way, I wouldn't mind having George S. Clinton's score to Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee released either.

Oh God yes, a complete Son of the Morning Star next please! The only Safan score that would top Starfighter for me!

Intrada doesn't announce tracklists until they release the product - the good news is that it's only a couple of days to go.
