I offer the following take on the subject. In view of the sentiments expressed, the original tempo is too slow, and so this version should be accompanied by an LP version of the instrumental but played at 45 rpm.

On the other hand, the notes for the original Varese twin-pack of Games of Death (from which this songs hails) and Night Games stated that this song was Barry's one and only lyric-writing credit.
The weirdest lyric I have seen for a Barry tune is I DIED LAST NIGHT (theme from Petulia)
I don't know this one; it's not in the soundtrack release from FSM. Can you tell us any more about it? Was it ever recorded, and, if so, is it available anywhere?

It wouldn't surprise me if JB wrote the piece with a possible song in mind. That would be fitting with JB's form.
I would judge "Somewhere in Time" and "Across the Sea of Time" as examples of this; the main theme for each just happens to fit the title phrase perfectly.
Indeed, TWO sets of lyrics have been written for the former.
