Yesterday I paid another visit to De Efteling, world's most beautiful theme park.

One of the attractions I always look forward is Droomvlucht (Dream Flight): basically a car ride through a puppet show. The set up is gorgeous. And so is the music, composed by Dutch composer Ruud Bos. Bos' composed more music for De Efteling (and more than a handful of films), but I think his work on Droomvlucht really stands out. Some of you (if not all) might like it as well. It's a fairly romantic composition full of fantasy and wonder with a delightful theme, gracefully performed by a full symphony orchestra.

Sample with scenery from the show in the Youtube clip below. The full score is available in iTunes, for those who might like to dive in to it.

Ruud Bos is one of those composers that if he were an American, for example, there would be more praise of him. He has made some wonderful stuff, but it's very unknown, even in the Netherlands!

Agreed! His music is really something and deserves every bit of attention as any Giacchino or Powell razz

I especially love his music from Villa Volta:

and

Fata Morgana!

Gorgeous! Both tracks give me goosebumps.

I know nothing about this music (or composer), just to say I used to love going to Efteling when I was a kid living in Limburg. Many happy memories of the place. I'll have to go back some year and bring my own kids to it.

Sadly, only available on iTunes in the Netherlands, so far as I can discern.

Oh, for the day when it really is a small world after all, and we can share these international treasures.

But thanks for letting us know about this, and for the links.

As Bogie said, we'll always have Youtube.

Haha... never thought I'd see De Efteling on FSM Boards!

Have always loved the Villa Volta theme. Proper power anthem. Same for Vogelrok, that is a strong theme... the way Hans Zimmer's theme used to be strong and cool, you know, back in the 90s.

So yeah... much love to Ruud Bos!
