I wouldn't say that the whole single is somber. The first two minutes are very jazzy, in tune with some of Shore's material on his first Collector's Edition album. Afterwards you get some thematic material that seems rather menacing to me, but still could be considered somber. When I think "somber" and "Howard Shore" I immediately think Eastern Promises, though I usually associate the term with its melancholy. I think that Shore's Maps to the Stars, judging by that single, might have a bit of playful wit about it.
