Then you and Richard-W had best take your bold and brassy posts (see above) elsewhere, or at least not to that cafe...

NO COFFEE FOR YOU!

www.eater.com/archives/2014/07/21/ireland-cafe-bans-loud-american-tourists.php

The other day I was at a shop a couple were sharing a load obnoxious video of a basketball game and laughing really loud. The rest of the room was totally silent, only two other people. Of course the sad part is that they were totally oblivious to how rude and annoying they were because these kind of people are entirely/completely/absolutely self involved.

Ha, that's so unfair, Ireland is such a friendly country. No coach parties...that café deserves to go bust, they might have done already.

Funny thing is: if they said no loud TOURISTS, this wouldn't have ever gotten any attention.

I'd like to ban loud Americans from libraries, theaters, and other places, and I'm an American living in America!

Just for them:

Oh, they knew alright.
It's just that some people never outgrow the "look at me" phase of childhood.

I remember some loud, obnxous people at a library, one time, playing videos and terrible music really loud. When they went to the bathroom (they went as a group), I went over to their computers and reset the volumes levels and themn hid the volume controls so they couldn't re-adjust them.

The only time I've ever experienced loud and obnoxious tourists was when I went to dinner with friends to an Indian place and a group of Brits walked into the place. I don't mind when people talk up, but they were just shouting and even insulting the owners etc. of course all loaded already. I'd gladly take a group of Americans over Brits no offense.

This is surprising. Just a couple of nights ago I watched 'Mrs. Miniver' and everyone was so polite!

I can't stand loud people. It's no wonder I became a librarian, so I could get paid to tell people to SHAAAADAAAAP!!

Loud music, on the other hand...

They're a welcoming, tolerant bunch in Ireland all right. From not serving 'Loud Americans' coffee to not making cake for gay couples, it's all happening...

Yes, I've witnessed nasty, racist Brit behaviour in an Indian restaurant too, they ran off as soon as the Police turned up. In my travels I've also encountered LOUD Americans, abusive Germans, ignorant French, sexist Indians, racist Australians, thieving Spaniards, and the list goes on....

I guess we can all throw stones from our own glass houses roll eyes ( I do love clichés wink )

Killed me Dave big grin

Librarians should have tasers for such boars

There is nothing like a loud American wearing sports jerseys with no sleeves, and yoga pants or sweat pants talking really loud on the phone in a quiet area, or at the grocery checkout.

In such cases a shoulder launched photon torpedo appears in my mind.

This will probably get me into trouble. One thing I've noticed is groups of women tend to become very loud, especially when alcohol is involved. The critical mass seems to be about six people. Things start out normally, then the pitch becomes higher and louder and the sound carries throughout the room.
