I created an MP3 file and placed it in a playlist. I have "Sound Check" on. The song played fine in a playlist with over 30 other tracks. All played at the same volume for months. Then just the other day this one track would play at a volume much lower than the other cues.

I deleted the file and re-imported it and the volume was still too low. So I created the file from scratch and put it back into the playlist. Played the file and the volume was at the same level as the rest of the playlist once again. Problem solved...

Last night I left my computer on. Left iTunes open. Left it on the playlist I was last playing with this particular cue. This morning I played the playlist again and that one problem cue is playing at a very low volume again.

Probably no solution to this bizarre problem.

If you want to raise or lower the volume of the track artificially, you can then adjust it manually to play at the volume of your choice

Not sure if it works with Sound Check on; you may need to turn that setting off.

Thxs. I tried that. Put it at hundred percent and it's still much lower than the other tracks. I put the file into WavePad and raised the "Amplify" almost to the max. That helped in getting it closer to the over all playlist volume level, but now there's some distortion. I guess that's called clipping.
