La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures proudly present acclaimed composer Ira Newborn’s (DRAGNET, UNCLE BUCK, MY BLUE HEAVEN, INNOCENT BLOOD) original motion picture scores to THE NAKED GUN TRILOGY (THE NAKED GUN, THE NAKED GUN 2 ½: THE SMELL OF FEAR and THE NAKED GUN 33 1/3: THE FINAL INSULT) starring Leslie Nielsen, Priscilla Presley and George Kennedy, and directed by David Zucker (NAKED GUN, NAKED GUN 2 ½) and Peter Segal (NAKED GUN 33 1/3). This 3-CD set features the original scores to all three NAKED GUN films, with the scores to the first two films remastered and greatly expanded beyond previous releases and the world-premiere release of NAKED GUN 33 1/3. Mr. Newborn’s robust orchestral scores to this classic comedy franchise, (created by the legendary ZAZ team of David Zucker, Jim Abrahams and Jerry Zucker), are a wondrous explosion of thrills, suspense, high-octane action and passionate romance – and then there’s that iconic big-band-swing NAKED GUN theme, as iconic, indelible and bigger-than-life than Lt. Frank Drebin himself. This collection features bonus tracks and songs from the films as well, including “I’m in to Something Good,” “I Guess I’m Just Screwed,” the Pia Zadora-performed Academy-Awards show-stopper “This Could be the Start of Something” and quite possibly the greatest rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” ever recorded, sung by opera great Enrico Pallazzo (in a never-before-heard prerecorded performance).

Produced by Dan Goldwasser and Neil S. Bulk and mastered by Doug Schwartz, this 3-CD limited edition release of 2000 units features a 36-Page Booklet with exclusive liner notes by writer Daniel Schweiger, including comments from the composer and filmmakers. Crime-stoppingly fun art design is courtesy of Dan Goldwasser. A must-have-listen for the home, the car, at work, and extended stays at Statesville Prison.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1291
Music by Marc Shaiman
Limited Edition of 3000 Units

La-La Land Records, Paramount Pictures and Universal Music Special Markets present the remastered and expanded release of acclaimed composer Marc Shaiman’s (CITY SLICKERS, ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES, THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT, HAIRSPRAY) original motion picture score to the 1991 Paramount Pictures gothic comedy feature film THE ADDAMS FAMILY, starring Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia and Christopher Lloyd, and directed by Barry Sonnenfeld. Mr. Shaiman does the world’s most favorite ooky family proud with a lush and sweeping orchestral score -- full of infectious themes and rich, lively motifs that will guarantee a smile on any listener’s face. Produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by Doug Schwartz, this deluxe re-issue clocks in at over 70 minutes and is greatly expanded beyond its original 1991 soundtrack release. There’s music here that Shaiman wrote and recorded that didn’t make the final cut of the film, as well as Bonus Tracks that include the trailer’s music and more! Renowned for his concert compositions, this was Mr. Corigliano’s debut film score – a strikingly original and thrilling work, both spellbindingly haunting and emotionally powerful, that would receive an Oscar nomination. Personally supervised by Corigliano, this special release of his ground-breaking score was remastered by Mark Wilder and produced by Didier C. Deutsch. In depth, exclusive liner notes from writer Jeff Bond include new comments from the composer as they take you behind one of the most notable films and scores of the 80’s, while Dan Goldwasser’s atmospheric art design takes you deeper into the beyond. A must-have for any soundtrack enthusiast, ALTERTED STATES has returned sounding better-than-ever!

John Corigliano created the sequence for the original RCA 1980 score album. At his request, we have retained that original sequence for this album.

Shipped already, plus I snagged an autograph, too!

I grinned ear to ear when I heard the funny piano music in the website samples. I also see Satin Doll was included on the 2 1/2 disc (nothing I was craving but a pleasant surprise nonetheless).

Besame Mucho is there, too... ha!

I noticed on Mr. Goldwasser's portfolio page the Wheelo Records logo on the first disc. Was this designed specifically for this release (continuing the gag from the film) is it an actual legal entity?

Anyway, awesome work! smile

Oddly, I never even thought about Naked Gun soundtracks til this release came up - though I first saw the original movie when it was released on video.

So I re-watched the first one last weekend, and suddenly realized how much fun the music is - at quite a high level of seriousness, which is a big part of the comedy success.

So I not only had to order it, but hell, had to throw in the Lethal Weapon Collection at the same time - because for heaven's sake, these are the two definitive buddy cop series of the 80s and 90s. Aren't they? Yes they are!
