I finally played A SONG FROM THE HEART by Patrick Williams last weekend. It's a composer promo CD that I snagged for about $4 from BSX a few months ago. It's from a 1999 film, probably a TV or Cable Movie that I've never seen. The music is a real delight, VERY similar to scores by Lee Holdridge from the 70's and 80's. As the film appears to be about romance and orchestra musicians, Williams gets to write some real nice violin passages with orchestra and there's a big, lovely OTT track called Song For Maryanne (that should have ended the CD) which is really, really good. Greg's Theme is also gloriously OTT. Recommended for fans of Patrick Williams and old school, light, romantic scores. Anyone else have/heard this?
