....My dream is to own "The Complete Capitol Recordings Of The Nat King Cole Trio" but the current price is above my pay grade. I own most of the other "essential" Trio releases and drag them out still. I love your description of "unalloyed joy." Perfect description.

Edwina, I am an unabashed Spotify lover and prosletyzer. And here's one reason why - for our monthly $15 family subscription (including separate accounts for me, my wife and daughter), I can listen to the Complete Capitol Recordings any time I want on my desktop at work and at home, and can even download them to my iPad or phone.

https://open.spotify.com/album/36r0NLy7NH4Z14enk0EvF4

And they sound great!

Sean, do they even have the complete Trio recordings? Whew, that would be amazing and tempting.

Nat King Cole's single that was still on the charts the time of his death was the ironically titled "I Don't Want To Live To See Tomorrow".

For my money, his rendition of "The Christmas Song" is the quintessential Yuletide song.

Yes, I was just too lazy to write it all out, but that's what I was talking about, the complete trio recordings. Along with much, much more.

And by the way, I think a single account at Spotify is $10 a month. But it's worth getting the family if there are multiple folks in your family who would use it. That's true for us, and you don't have to be in the same household. My daughter uses it constantly when away at college.

Awesome, as we share Netflix, we shall share Spotify. Thanks Sean.

Hey Sean, I am signing up for a 3 month special for $.99 per month. Question - are they easy to cancel if I choose to?

I've never canceled so I can't say, but I'd be surprised if there were any issue. These online companies know how important it is to make their subscription plans easy to use.

It's a good deal you got yourself there, hope you enjoy it!

Always enjoyed Nat's singing all the way back to his 15 minute TV show in the 50's. My favorite selections are Love Letters, Christmas Song (iconic version of that song) and Unforgettable (with or without Natalie). Of course, Cat Ballou is also tops with Stubby Kaye. What a great musical they might have made together had not fate intervened.

My apologies, Jim and Music! I wasn't ignoring you, I was delusional. Must have been an acid flashback from the Sixties.

No need to apologize, PNJ. Just listen to the music.

Yeah, crazy, man. Thanks! (That's one tune Cole couldn't sing in his post-Trio balladeer days!)
