La-La Land Records, WEA and Warner Bros. proudly present the remastered and expanded, limited edition 2-CD set of John Williams’ Academy Award Nominated original score to the 1987 feature film EMPIRE OF THE SUN, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Christian Bale, John Malkovich and Miranda Richardson. Heralded as one of the acclaimed composer’s finest works, Mr. Williams’ masterful orchestral score seeks no less than the openness of the human heart, mind and soul – the perfect compliment to this powerful and indelible film about a young English boy’s emotional and physical struggle to survive the Japanese occupation of China during WWII.
This deluxe re-issue was produced, assembled and mastered by Mike Matessino in cooperation with John Williams, Steven Spielberg and the film’s co-producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. Disc 1 contains a full presentation of the film score, including never-before-released music, while Disc 2 pulls back the veil of the creative process with a selection of alternate cues and other additional music. A 28-page CD booklet features handsome art design by Jim Titus and Matessino’s exclusive, in-depth essay, approved by the director and composer.

La-La Land Records, Paramount Pictures and Universal Music Special Markets present the remastered and expanded release of acclaimed composer Marc Shaiman’s (CITY SLICKERS, ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES, THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT, HAIRSPRAY) original motion picture score to the 1991 Paramount Pictures gothic comedy feature film THE ADDAMS FAMILY, starring Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia and Christopher Lloyd, and directed by Barry Sonnenfeld. Mr. Shaiman does the world’s most favorite ooky family proud with a lush and sweeping orchestral score -- full of infectious themes and rich, lively motifs that will guarantee a smile on any listener’s face. Produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by Doug Schwartz, this deluxe re-issue clocks in at over 70 minutes and is greatly expanded beyond its original 1991 soundtrack release. Hamlisch’s robust and thematic score is ripe for discovery – a beautiful and sincere work that is both heartfelt and exciting as it expertly and emotionally ties together all the dramatic and action elements of the film’s clever sci-fi riff on the classic Pinocchio story. ANNIE HARVEY: DREAM MOTEL & PIECES OF ME (2-CD SET) LLLCD 1702

La-La Land Records proudly invites you to enter the beautiful musical world of singer/songwriter/musician Annie Harvey with the release of ANNIE HARVEY: DREAM MOTEL & PIECES OF ME. Having started writing songs in high school, Harvey signed with Triad Artists in 1979 and began touring the bluegrass circuit, opening for Doc Watson, J.D. Crowe, Seldom Scene and many others. She would later perform at McCabe’s Guitar Shop, the Troubadours of Folk Music Festival, and KPFK’s “Folkscene” & KPCC’s “Citybilly” radio shows. The 28 songs on this 2-CD SET were recorded from 1987 through 2010 and showcase Harvey’s wide range -- from bluegrass, country and folk, to rockabilly and smooth jazz. Featured musicians include Brantley Kearns (from Dwight Yoakum’s band), Bill Bryson (from the Desert Rose Band) and the late Dick Fegy. The sessions’ producers are Dick Fegy, Don Heffington, Duke McVinnie, John O’Kennedy and David Pearlman and the music has been mastered by James Nelson. The attractive digipak packaging, designed by Mark Banning, features exclusive liner notes.
