Songwriter Gerry Goffin, who was best known with his collaboration with Carole Kings on many Top 40 hits (e.g. "One Fine Day", "Will You Love Me Tomorrow", "Don't Bring Me Down", "Chains"), has died. Condolences?

I remember Goffin's work with The Monkees. "Take a Giant Step" has always been a favorite.

Now dig '60s chicks doing what they do best (and some cuh-rayzee imagery to boot):

He and Carole wrote an incredible number of hits. The only other songwriter I can think of that comes close is Burt Bacharach.

One surprise for me when reading his obituary was that he wrote Whitney Houston's mega-hit "Savin' All My Love For You."

I consider Carole King and Gerry Goffin one of the Top 5 songwriting teams of all time.

Yes. And I always liked Goffin and King's "The Porpoise Song" by the Monkees, used in the film "HEAD".
