If memory serves, this was the last Elfman score that Shirley Walker worked on. The Varese CD is now 20+ years old, and runs just over 30 min. I posted that Youtube suite back in the day. Funny to see my silly videos still popping up around here now and then. I love this score as well and never understood why it receives so little attention. It's just an exhilarating, fun, heartfelt listen with a very memorable main theme (and a very versatile one at that, used in ways both patriotic and tragic throughout). No, it's not EDWARD SCISSORHANDS or SOMMERSBY or BATMAN or whatever, but it's not supposed to be! The film was on Netflix instant watch for the longest time and I always meant to give it a view, if nothing else to see the movie in context, but never got around to it. Thus can't really comment on what, if much of anything, is missing.
