Of course Deep Rising is no masterpiece in the Goldsmith's canvas, but surely is one hell of a score by any standard!

I've watched this film twice in a week, while I wait for my CD to arrive.
Great film and score, lots of fun.
The end titles in the film run for about 7 minutes, but on the CD track listing it's less than half the length. Why is this? Are the film credits just a suite of other parts of the score? Seems a shame if the film version isn't included.
Or am I wrong somewhere?
I popped this score in a few days ago while on a train ride, and found it just as entertaining as the first listen. It's great fun in a lot of spots, and when taken in full, there's a lot more variety and energy to it than you'd think based on the original album.
Regarding your inquiry about the "End Titles", here's what Doug Fake had to say about it on the Intrada forum:
"Ooooh... I just had to pop in and mention that Jerry DID NOT score or assemble the long cut-and-paste end credit sequence that appears in the film. It is an editorial sequence created during post production, drawn from many different cues that appear earlier in the film. Even engineer Bruce Botnick expressed this purely-editorial task to be a nightmarish attempt to keep up with changes in the length of the credit roll itself during post production. Making musical sense was secondary. And, no, we did not want to recreate it since ALL of the music appears elsewhere, in the sequences originally intended. The score does in fact close with a brief end title, actually more of a lengthy coda, and we stayed with what Goldsmith wrote."
So, apart from the "End Credit" piece found on the album, nothing in that film end credit was specially re-recorded for the piece. And I do enjoy the way the "End Credits" on the album ends - it closes out nicely.

Anyway this is an entertaining album with some really interesting material spread throughout - and the sound quality is fantastic.

So I kind of guessed right.
And by the sounds of it, the CD score will end with a catchy theme, rather than meandering into a selection of lesser "fun" cues?
Indeed! You'll also probably get a kick out of the two bonus tracks. The "Alternate Main Title" uses the main heroic theme in its second half instead of the more fun, jaunty theme used in the film - and the "Wild Drums" is actually a very fun bit of performance.
I love the hero theme that tends to have the synth steel-drums under it - the fact that he uses the timpani to carry the counterline sort of reminds me of his 60s TV themes. Very catchy!

Has anyone experienced playback issues with this disc?
I pulled this out to listen to (after well over a year undisturbed on the shelf) and had difficulty playing it through as it tended to skip and backtrack a few times - sometimes constantly repeating a brief "loop" - first noticed on track 13.
When I look at the playing surface under direct light and hold it just so, there appears to be a "wobbly" (i.e. uneven) ring present which ranges in distance from the centre from about 1cm to 2cm).
Yes I have emailed Intrada - with no response received as yet. Yes I know this is now out of print and I completely understand if there is no possibility of obtaining a replacement. I am curious to find out if any other discs have exhibited this issue.

Haven't played this one in a couple of months but never had any trouble with, it always played fine. But I can give it another listen later this week.

I enjoy it but it wouldn’t make my Goldsmith top 20… of the 90s, even. But a good bit of surface level fun, for sure.
