Hello guys,
First I want to introduce myself. My name's Francesco, I'm a composer born in Italy and working in London. I'm 24, and I always been a fan of movie soundtracks since I was born, and now I'm approaching my first scores for short movies and commercials. My side of the barricade is the symphonic gorgeous Silver Age of John Williams, James Horner and Mr. Goldsmith of the eighties, and this is important for introducing the video I want to share with you.
Looking around, I saw a lot of awesome composers, that work their ass every day. On the other hand, I see nowadays a lot of Hans Zimmer wannabe, throwing as much noise and percussion possible from cracked libraries in their showreels, trying to impress filmmakers. But the thing is, I guess as composers we should all move forward, find our style, and try to be awesome in what we have to tell, our mission to be more and more, to say things that would be impossible to tell with images only.
So, I made a little spoof. We all loved the soundtrack of The Matrix, Don Davis did a gorgeous job.
But what happens if, in 1999, they just called another guy?
