I'm including this here, rather than the Non-Film Score Discussion page, because it involves an aspect of the scoring community that has become quite vibrant in the last ten years: video games. Here's an impassioned Austin Wintory speaking out against the American Federation of Musicians, which is threatening action and a hefty fine for his last two years' work, producing scores for video games without their approval:

I'm not much of a gamer, but Austin's scores to “Flow” and “The Banner Saga” were lovely, and he did a fantastic tribute to Jerry Goldsmith a while back. This seems to be an unfair situation, and I thought it was brave of Austin to stand up for himself in this way. He's a very talented composer.
