Last week, it was announced by Sony that they were releasing both Ghostbusters films on 4K Blu-Ray and that there were several offerings by various companies to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Ghostbusters Franchise (http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=14167). I'm hoping that a Complete Score for the first film will be one of the offerings since Sony is going out of their way to commemorate the milestone.

IMHO, the main issue lies in the fact that it is the CD that is missing!

I just want a re-release so I can get my hands on a copy. It's long since out of print!

There's about ten minutes missing altogether. The Varese is incomplete. And that's counting the two diner source cues -- two excellent cues, by the way. Not only should it be re-done so we can get the complete score, but hopefully a new master. The sound qaulity on the Varese CD Club release leaves a lot to be desired. You could fill two CD's alone, reportedly, with just the rejected main titles songs that were made and passed on for the film. I don't know what the deal is with the cue in the film where the Magic instrumental transitions into score. Maybe that's an edit job, maybe it was created specifically, maybe it was made after Bernstein, by somebody else.

I was satisfied with the Varese Club sound quality, especially on "Zool". But this score should always be in print, and in a complete version.
