Sorry, I had to edit this because I couldn't get the direct link to work, but Google it if you're interested. I stumbled across this British-based site almost by accident. They deal in classical music, but do have quite a few Herrmann, Rozsa and Goldsmith soundtracks on offer. A very quick peruse made me realise that a few of the things on offer at normal price have all but disappeared from the soundtrack specialist stores, and are fetching high prices if available at all. Just off the top of my head, I recall seeing Quartet's PRIVATE LIFE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES at about 15 quid. Might be worth a browse.

Ah, got the link to work!

Thanks for the heads up - just ordered the OOP Wait Until Dark for only a few £ more than it would have cost if still in stock at Screen Archives!

Glad you got that one, Simon.

When I first came across that site earlier today, I made the mistake of clicking on their list of "classical composers", and thus seeing only Herrmann, Goldsmith, Rózsa and North in that elite group. It's really obvious now you Dumbo - go to "Genres", click on "Soundtracks" and you'll see them all, with a sidebar link to each composer. Many more soundtracks than I initially saw, and many well outside what I'd consider even remotely "classical" or even symphonic.

Still impressed at Quartet's release of Rózsa's SHERLOCK HOLMES at less than 15 squid. I wonder if MDT know they could charge more... I'm not going to tell them anyway.

I wouldn't get your hopes up on that one... I ordered Wait Until Dark from them 4 or 5 months ago and found that they cancelled the order after a couple of days as they couldn't get it in from their distributor. I don't trust some of these mail order outlets as their catalogs are often quite out of day and some of the items that they list as being in stock aren't actually in their warehouses.

Chris.

Oh dear, that doesn't bode well, cap'n. Still, they've got something called a "phone number" on their site, so it might be possible to "speak" to a real person and "ask". Although, come to think of it, I doubt it. Everything today is "Press Button 1 if..."

Sorry to get people's hopes up on this. Let us know (anyone) if you've had any luck from this place in the past.

As the Cap predicted, I got an email stating that Wait Until Dark was now unavailable, so it's annoying they don't keep the website up to date.

However, the other FSM disc I ordered with it, for a slightly better price than it would cost me to import, arrived this afternoon, so their service and shipping time for in-stock items is pretty damn good!

So not all bad news then! Anyone know if they've actually got Quartet's release of THE PRIVATE LIFE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES in stock as advertised? A bargain at 15 quid. Or is it? I never really knew how these things worked. The Rózsa score is up on Amazon for the same price. I didn't want any fannying about, so I ordered it from my regular store here, for 25 Euros.
