This "event" goes down on Monday, June 9 at 6pm at Mondo's gallery in Austin, Texas (4115 Guadalupe St.).

I think I've managed to convince Ado to show up. I'll be there to get both album versions.

This is not my favorite Williams score, but the art and production value have convinced me that I ought to take the plunge to encourage more classic soundtrack releases on vinyl. I want more Williams, Barry, and Goldsmith on new LP's! Even TRON is getting a colored-vinyl re-release!

C'mon, soundtrack-loving Central Texas-ites! Let's snap up that prestige soundtrack vinyl on Monday night! I look forward to seeing some fellow soundtrack aficionados.

Can you ask them why they didn't bother with the 20th anniversary tracks?

Can you thank them for putting out these fantastic scores on vinyl for collectors, and also congratulate them for not giving a damn about crap that is useless?

THANK YOU!

All of the above are quite intriguing.

As for the 20th anniversary tracks, I suppose it has something to do with space restrictions due to vinyl.

As for "not giving a damn about crap that is useless", that needs further clarification.

As for the into the fireplace (both movie and score) poster, I kind of agree, but I'm out to bolster the whole idea of putting old scores onto thoughtfully designed vinyl packages, and not a blind JURASSIC PARK booster.

That said, I still hope to see some FSM-ers there.

Party's tonight! Let's bring some FSM love to The City of Weird!

I think I'll get a copy of both versions.

Well, I meant to say I felt the 20th anniversary material was rather useless to me. I'm not incredibly adamant about expanded releases like most around here and I trust Williams and the album producers judgement in their original soundtrack release. Listening to an hour and some change of Williams' triumphant score served its purpose then and it still does 21 years later. This vinyl release needs to capture that experience of the first listen we all had, not the nostalgic need for more and more music that we already know. I might have come off as harsh, but I just wouldn't consider confronting the folks at Mondo over this nice package with the complaint that they didn't include music which I consider unnecessary.

Back from Austin with both Versions A and B.

No energy left! Must re-charge with pizza! Mmm...yes...yes...oh...oh...no...NO! Can't go on...not—enough—strength left to split shrinkwrap.

Listening report tomorrow!
