Was looking at this great album cover again today, then realised...............
Someone's name is missing?

Yeah - this was more common, I think, with LP soundtracks than CDs.

Fox's 1959 LP of A DOG OF FLANDERS did not credit Paul Sawtell & Bert Shefter, but, instead, mentioned the orchestra and chorus:

No mention of Malcolm Arnold on the jacket or on the record labels:

Unless you care to read through the credits on the back, you have to read the fine print in the booklet to find out the composer for this score:

Don't know if this qualifies as an original album cover. I purchased this a couple of days ago...

I suspect in the more recent cases, someone screwed up and forgot the composer was supposed to be credited on the covers under their composer agreements...

Elmer Bernstein was credited as I recall on RAMBLING ROSE

Lee Holdridge wasn't credited on the SIXTEEN DAYS OF GLORY

In both cases both the studio and labels fouled up.

Ford A. Thaxton

What? No credit for Christopher Gunning? Sacrilege!

Surely there must have been room for a comprise between nothing and this:

In this case they clearly had no idea who wrote the music. Well the theme anyway. big grin

No mention of Malcolm Arnold on the jacket or on the record labels:

The same applies to both the original and reissue of "The Brodge On The River Kwai" album.

The question always reminds me of Page Cook and 55 DAYS AT PEKING, which had the credit in tiny white letters on a black background -- thus allowing him to obliterate the offensive name with a heavy black marker!

I've recently been revisiting the FSM release of Miklos Rozsa' wonderful score for Time After Time and was shocked to discover Rozsa's name totally absent from the cover?

No mention of Malcolm Arnold on the jacket or on the record labels:

Was it because of the sound quality?

The same folks who gave you Ingrid Bergman but not Victor Young followed suit with Audrey Hepburn but not Franz Waxman for THE NUN'S STORY.

Sorry I'm unable to reproduce it here as you guys have done, but this link will take you to a postage stamp sized image at Amazon:
