From the film description, I would expect that small, delicate, low-key ensemble style score that sounded great in To Gillian on her 37th Birthday...and not so great in Life Before Her Eyes. I hope he gives us DAD 2
JH probably pulled out did to finishing Wolf Totem and his commitment to Titanic Live in April. Well, that is what I like to think! The film company may have decided he is now too expensive!
I always hope that it was Horner who said "Look I did Spidey 1 after being persuaded, and yes I did enjoy, but there is no way I want to do Spidey 2!"

According to the interview with Horner at JHFM, that's exactly what happened. He said he got a look at the script and found the narrative and character development to be utterly uninteresting and summarily passed on the sequel. I really dug Horner's work for The Amazing Spider-man, but I'm perfectly fine without a Horner sequel. In fact, I found Zimmer's score to be quite thrilling. I'd like to have heard Horner's take on the Gwen Stacy death scene, though.
