Max Steiner's Oscar nominated score for "Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima" (1952)
would be a great add to the film music religious epics available on CD.

Is the material available in the Warner Bros. vaults?

As I recall, there are acetates but they are in mostly poor condition?

TMOOLOF is one of my all time favorite Max Steiner scores too and I would love to have on CD - in the original recording preferably or even a rerecording -- it is slowly becoming a forgotten film and score.

I love this film and score.

Last I kmew. the score only existed on some so so acetates.
Another problem is that the acetates are lacking the choral overdubs for when the virgin appears.
Only ever had a chance to talk to Max Steiner just once in the mid sixties.
He mentioned the first stereo recording he did for a film was Miracle of Fatima. I put this down as being an age error.
Later, when going through the daily production logs on the film, it mentions the stereo recording sessions for the music. Sadly, those things are long gone.

Unfortunate that this gem score is unavailable on CD like so many Max Steiner scores not on an album.

But the film survives and the score is there and overall there exists a pleasing Max Steiner CD discography, despite so many key missing showpieces not on CD ("The Garden of Allah", "Jezebel", "Now, Voyager", "The Big Sleep", "Beyond the Forest", "Spencer's Mountain") like "Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima" .

The loving re-recordings of recent years are pure music Gold discography adds, of course!

One of Max's best scores.

Some discs are at BYU, maybe Ray can give us some info.
