I have always loved this score (I admit that I have an affection for just about any late-period Steiner score). I'm sure the original tracks are lost in the morass of that whole dying-RKO, and U-I or WB distribution setup, but I still hold out hope that one day, some unknown acetates may be unearthed on this score. (I also hope that Waxman's excellent RKO film score for BACK FROM ETERNITY somehow surfaces someday.)
In the meantime, I thank the person who thought enough of Steiner's music to arrange several of its themes into this score for band. It shows in just a few minutes the treasure of melodies to be found in this score.
I really hope we'll see a professional recording of at least parts of this wonderful score in the future.
