Would you buy this great Michael Small score on CD?

Here's a sampling of the Main and End Titles. Enjoy!

Yes I want this beauty and I'm surprised it hasn't been released yet. Hopefully the masters exist.

And while you're talking about old Michael Small soundtracks, let's not forget the guitar-infused magical one he wrote for the very touching "Love And Pain And The Whole Damn Thing."

Hell, yes. Michael Small is an instant buy - especially this one and NIGHT MOVES (should the tapes ever be discovered).

I'm not sure I would buy it, but it's an interesting score and film.

Here's my old Cinema Club thread on it:

Although distributed by Columbia Pictures, THE STEPFORD WIVES (1975) was originally copyrighted by its primary production company, Palomar Pictures International. When the copyright came up for renewal in 2002, it was renewed by the company that had actually provided then-defunct Palomar with most of the film's financing--drug-maker Bristol-Myers Squibb. Almost immediately, the rights were sold to Paramount/Dreamworks, who had decided to remake the film with Nicole Kidman. That remake was released in 2004.

In 2006, Paramount sold a controlling interest in the DreamWorks Pictures live-action library (pre-September 16, 2005 films) to Soros Strategic Partners and Dune Entertainment II. But in 2010, Viacom (the parent company of Paramount) repurchased Soros' controlling stake in the DreamWorks Pictures library.

So, if the actual film elements have survived their journey from one corporate entity to the others, Paramount would be the place to look for the original score tracks.
