Does anyone know if there's the slightest likelihood of a complete For A Few Dollars More soundtrack? The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was expanded brilliantly with mono actual film tracks, especially with The Trio which quite successfully manages to put the stereo album version with the mono second half from the film at the end as a third verse. But I was severely disappointed with the FAFDM one from GDM/Hillside a few years ago which has the worst possible mono recordings taken straight from a film copy to expand it. They're so bad they sound like they're being played underwater! I understand the producer probably did his best, but I wondered if the original mono tracks actually existed to facilitate a future release? Or does this edition simply mean the obvious, that they must not and all is lost for a complete recording?

This is at present the ONLY complete version available, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Danger-Diabolik-Few-Dollars-More/dp/B00IYUHNYY/ref=sr_1_2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1398251113&sr=1-2&keywords=for+a+few+dollars+more Having heard it all the way through, I have to admit it's not Morricone, but then nobody else has ever come close to sounding like Morricone in Western mode. This re-recording is very close, some of the tracks are almost indistinguishable from the originals, some (the Final Showdown) are a disappointment. If you have a copy of the "Fan Made" Disc which is in limited circulation, using that and this new re-recording, it's possible to construct a 61 minute version of For A Few Dollars More which contains ALL the music used in the film. The re-recording contains every note that is in the film, it's not a bad listening experience on it's own, combined with the fan edit, I reckon it's the closest I'm ever going to get to a complete version. I've been waiting for this music since 1968, I like to think that there's always a chance that someone will release a complete For A Few Dollars More, after all MGM must have had access to the original mono tapes for their documentary on the DVD of the film, which contains several previously unreleased tracks.
