What Harrybocai is saying is that the CD is orchestral versions of the theme songs -- i.e. music with lyrics.
I guess that makes sense, though somewhat disappointing. Still very bizzare the lack of info in the booklet about this, though.

Really? I can't remember any theme songs in FAREWELL MY CONCUBINE or EAT DRINK MAN WOMAN, for example, but it's been a long time since I saw these films.

Whether they have or not, though, orchestral versions of the songs don't sound so bad, although I'd obviously prefer the actual score themes from the films.

FYI, it looks like there was another more recent release of this that does include Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon along with a few other additional tracks.

I'm totally confused now. Probably a language issue.

Let me try again: All of the films on the list have film songs in addition to regular score, and these are new versions of these film songs?

Right, but not excatly, these songs always release as a promo songs before the film release, some of them didn't appear in the film or end credict, they come with the soundtrack CD.

I think the reasons why Silver American release such a CD may be the copyright fees, the copyright fees of an actual score themes will involved in multiple production companies, but the songs are different, just one music company, the Rolling Stone Records in TaiWan.
