So far, Digitmovies has released 5 albums of music from Italy's horror genre starring Barbara Steele.

Other Italian soundtrack labels such as Legend or Beat have not offered any other titles.

The first one came in 2005, with the release of Roberto Nicolosi's LA MASCHERA DEL DEMONIO:

... afterwards, in 2008, came forth Carlo Rustichelli's I LUNGHI CAPELLI DELLA MORTE and LO SPETTRO (DeMasi).

A few years ago, Aldo Piga's 5 TOMBE PER UN MEDIUM.

... and most recently, Riz Ortolani's DANZA MACABRA:

What do you think is next?

1962's L'orribile segreto del Dr. Hichcock by Roman Vlad?

You forgot two Digitmovies CDs.
5 TOMBE PER UN MEDIUM7IL MOSTRO DELL'OPERA (Aldo Piga):

LO SPETTRO/LA LAMA NEL CORPO (De Masi):

Unfortunately, no tapes for Roman Vlad's excellent ORRIBILE SEGRETO score are available. Therefore don't have high hopes for any CD release. It is just not possible. Vlad himself did also have no tapes in his private archives.

What will quite certainly come on CD from the CAM catalogue via Sugar in the near or distant future is Ralph Ferraro's score for Michael Reeves' LA SORELLA DI SATANA.

Thanks, Stefan.

I updated the data; I didn't realize the Piga disc was from a Barbara Steele movie.

Another I just remembered is from GDM: Ennio Morricone's Amanti D'Oltretomba:

I had only just learned today that Roman Vlad had passed away in September of 2013.
While there have been threads here @ FSM on the deaths of Trovajoli and Ortolani, I don't recall any mention at all about Vlad's death.

R.I.P., Maestro Vlad

While not in the horror genre, this soundtrack is for an Italian movie with Barbara Steele:

Made in 1968 & shown in 1970, Fermante il mondo ... Voglio Scendere! was a Euro version of STOP THE WORLD ... I WANT TO GET OFF.

One of the cues is a "Shake per Barbara", whilst another track is "Barbara tango". smile

There is of course the alternate score by Les Baxter that was released for BLACK SUNDAY (La Maschera Del Demonio) by Kritzerland (2011).

Yes, yes and yes! A very good film, and an absolutely mesmerising score. Just look at the poetry of the languid images and gorgeously longing music for the Main Titles.

I tried to get in touch recently with Francesco de Masi's son (who's in charge apparently of his father's estate) to ask if there's any chance of a release for this wonderful score, but no reply yet. I probably went into the spam bucket.

GDM reissued Amanti D'Oltretomb (Nightmare Castle) in November 2015.

The 1966 Barbara Steele Italian-British co-production SHE BEAST (Il lago di Satana) was reportedly scored by Paul Ferris. When it was released in the U.S. by Europix Consolidated Corp., an alternate score by Ralph Ferraro was substituted. Neither score has been released. This print has the Ferraro score:

Yes... I'll agree on this one but is there sufficient music apart from the main titles? Have to watch this again.

I saw it fairly recently, captain. I was actually watching it as part of a Barbara Steele horror marathon, more to see how it fit into her European horror genre period as a film than for any particular desire to hear the music. In fact, I didn't even know who scored it before I watched it, but it was such great music that it registered. It certainly didn't seem overscored, but I don't think it was particularly sparse either. I didn't have the stopwatch out, but I'd reckon at least half an hour's worth.

True about the Black Sunday, but Barbara Steele was not in the cast of the 1963 Black Sabbath though.

I recall Stefan Schlegel mentioning that Ralph Ferraro's music does exist and will eventually be released ...
