Nice piece and it brings back memories of when I saw that movie as a kid decades ago, but I forgotten how nice that theme was.

At a sound studio I worked at in 1990, we had a pretty big selection of DeWolfe library LPs, including "14 Pictorial Sketches for Orchestra," from which this piece was taken. Much of that album was written as sort of a library-music near-copy sound-alike versions of themes from Ron Goodwin's WHERE EAGLES DARE, and was really good! I think, when listening to "Outward Bound," you'll immediately hear the WHERE EAGLES DARE references.

I think it's actually called "Fourteen Pictorial Sketches for Orchestra No. 2"

i always thought this jim, it had an Eagles flavour. not quite Ron but has there ever been a better choice of library music that fitted a film so well??!

I love love love all the music used in this film, as well as the tracks used on the album that came out too.

When DeWolfe released their CD of flying circus music I read that they would love to do a Holy Grail release too, but I'm not holding my breath. But it really is genuinely a holy grail for me!

this is a really nice arrangement of Homeward Bound smile

Jeff.....The piece you mention (The Castle Arrrgh) is "The Promised Land" by Stanley Black. You might have to make do with this for now smile

I love this. I didn't know it was composed by Stanley Black but he sure followed the 'Ten Commandments' sound as suggested by the title.

I blow my nose at you, so-called "Arthur King," you and all your silly English K-nig-hts.

Awesome--I had these tracks on a cassette tape years ago but it's long since lost--great to have them again!

Is the score and parts available for purchase for this song? I'm trying to find a concert band arrangement and I'm not having a whole lotta luck.

At first I thought this thread was about Homeward Bound the movie and I was surprised they had quoted this theme in that movie, and then I was confused why the video had a bunch of soldiers in it instead of dogs and cats, and then I read more and understood...
