With all the talk about the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, what was the name of the film/book from years ago when I think time stopped in flight within a doomed airliner and all the passengers were removed by some alien force and sent to a different world/dimension?

The TV film based on Stephen King's THE LANGOLIERS, perhaps?

The film is actually quite decent, but the novella is REALLY good.

No Thor, it was not THE LANGOLIERS, but thanks for reply.

"Millenium", if I'm not mistaken. Can't remember the year.

Cheryl Ladd & Kris Kristofferson.

That's it Octoberman! Thanks .
Don't know why this came to mind as I read everyday about the Malaysia flight.

I live to give. big grin

I saw it when it first came out (back in the early days of VHS rentals). Not a bad little flick.
And Cheryl Ladd is always a babe.

I saw MILLENNIUM about 15-20 years ago, but I don't remember much about it. The film was directed by Michael Anderson (FLIGHT FROM ASHIYA, LOGAN'S RUN). It was based on the short story "Air Raid" by Herb Boehm in Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine (Spring 1977).

THE X-FILES has an episode about mid-air abductions.

There was a support B feature way back in the sixties where a plane came to a stop in the air above the clouds & the passengers got out (walking on some dry ice!), & I think it turns out they're already dead, or something. It's bugging me, I'm going to have to find out what film it was.

EDIT. I think it was, The Flight That Disappeared (aka The Flight That Vanished) 1961, a message film about super bombs.

2nd EDIT. I think it could be a TV film that was on the Horror Channel in the UK last week (or next week, I can't look it up, I'm just about to go to sleep, I'll check on it when I get back from work tomorrow.

I saw it a few years ago. I think it works out that these people from a doomed future are time traveling back to planes that are just about to crash, putting everyone to sleep & replacing them with dead bodies, & sending the passengers into the future, where people can't conceive, or something like that. Quite a neat idea, you interfere with the past without changing the future.

It might be called Termination Point, but it's not that old, 2007.

I was on that plane and let me tell you the Martian cuisine was just out of this world.
