FRIDAY, APRIL 11

GODZILLA---new photo released showing Godzilla under attack by the military. Premiere is May 16.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY---photo released. Director James Gunn said the movie is "definitely connected to THE AVENGERS 3". He said about villain Thanos, "Thanos slaughtered [Gamora's] family and Nebula's, then raised them together as siblings. They were bio engineered to become living weapons, so he's really good at killing people."

JAMES BOND---Penelope Cruz, long rumored to be in a Bond movie, will be the next Bond Girl according to French magazine PREMIERE, which said her name appeared on a Sony Pictures release schedule update. If the report is true, Cruz, 39, would be the oldest Bond Girl. Cruz's husband, Javier Bardem, co-starred in SKYFALL.
Also, two Swedish actresses, Ida Engvoll and Disa Ostrand, have filmed screen tests for a role described as "a Scandinavian with a troubled past who will serve as a brief love interest for Bond."

THE LIBRARIANS---TNT ordered ten episodes of the series sequel to its THE LIBRARIAN tv movie trilogy. Noah Wylie will return in a recurring role only. Rebecca Romijn has the lead role of a counter-terrorist expert assigned to protect The Librarians. Bob Newhart, Jane Curtin, John Larroquette and Matt Frewer also star.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE---director Bryan Singer said about the sequel, “APOCALYPSE deals with ancient mutancy. What would humans have thought mutants were? What would mutants think humans were? You’re dealing with gods and things like that. And what if one survived and what if that found its way into our world?” He confirmed that Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Erik (Michael Fassbender) , Charles (James McAvoy) and Hank (Nicholas Hoult) are returning and added that Gambit and Nightcrawler might also be in the sequel.

THE GRUDGE---writer Jeff Buhler (MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN) said the reboot movie will be total and ignore the previous three movies, "We're not approaching this as a remake of the Sarah Michelle Gellar film or a remake of the 'Ju-on' film. This is pushing the mythology forward while keeping the concepts and spirit of those movies, yet finding a new way to tell a story within that world, which is exciting."
Buhler added the reboot will have, "new characters, new ghost, and a new mythology. We are still in the scripting process [and] very early in the process."

DIVERGENT---Lionsgate announced that the final book in the trilogy, ALLEGIANT, will be divided into two movies.

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE---Jeff Wadlow will rewrite the movie script and is a candidate to direct as well.

ROSEMARY'S BABY---NBC's four-hour miniseries based on the Ira Levin horror novel will premiere on Mother's Day, May 11.

THE 5TH WAVE---Chloe Moretz is in talks to star in this sci fi movie based on the novel about a 16-year-old girl, one of the last surviving humans, who is searching for her baby brother before the fifth wave of an alien invasion occurs.

DIRTY WHITE BOYS---GAME OF THRONES showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss are the writers/directors/producers of this movie based on the novel about three escaped convicts with lawmen in hot pursuit.

Just what we've all been waiting for. X-Men: Stargate.

Quelle surprise.

Isn't this the guy who was attached to the X-Force movie? Is that officially cancelled now that they're going this Apocalypse direction?

That's an interesting way to barbecue your local giant lizard. Internal radioactivity should even contribute to slightly reduced cooking times. Enjoy!

I think they confused Gamera with Godzilla. The damn thing looks like a giant snapping turtle!

Now there's a sentence no one ever expected to see.

I`m from Sweden and never heard of either of them. However wasn`t Carolina Gynning a top candidate?

I am intrigued by Godzilla. There has to be more to it than just; massive creature rises from the sea, bashes a city around a bit, gets his arse handed to him by the military. I'm sure there is.

Look at the track-listing of the soundtrack.

TO CINEMASCOPE-YES that is what usually sums up these type of genre films, monster comes from some far away place bashes the city around then most of the time gets knock off by the final reel. However the difference with EUGENE LOURIE'S TRILOGY[BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS, THE GIANT BEHEMOTH, GORGO] is there is a wonderful apprehensive suspenseful vibe behind it. Slowly but surely it is coming, coming and bingo chaos breaks loose. STYLE, MAN, STYLE.Not the junk the Japanese gave us.

Well I guess if you have the mentality of a 5 year old you might enjoy the worst genre films that ever came down the pipe.Hey I love the concept of sense of wonder films and have always admired that genre but BRAM STOKER AND MARY SHELLY are not the same as GAMMERA VS MORTHA VS DODO BIRD[OR WHATEVER] ,get real.

I hope three strikes I am not out. I went to see GODZILLA 84, in the theatres, the only good thing about that film was the cutest actress I ever saw on screen[my line producer was trying to get her for a film of ours, oh my I would have loved to directed her, travel expenses would have been a bummer for her] , the music score was good and so was RAYMOND BURR'S speech at the end. I went to see GODZILLA IN 98, and I was a bit disappointed, by at least it was not as stupid as the Japanese ones were and the effects were of course better. So I am hoping I won't be wasting my money on it. I will probably be seeing it alone, I am embarrass to ask my girlfriend if she would want to see it, you know. However the latest TWILIGHT MOVIE] yes she would hug me and more]because you see guys, that's just the way it is.
