Of course Serling wrote episodes of The Night Gallery.
I doubt that the project would have interested him at all if he was only supposed to be the host.

The IMDB indicates that Serling had a hand in writing 27 episodes.

Serling fully wrote some of the show's best segments, my favorite of the entire series being "They're Tearing Down Tim Riley's Bar."

YES, Smitty!
They're Tearing Down Tim Riley's Bar was so reminiscent of the TWILIGHT ZONE episode, "Walking Distance", wasn't it?

The NIGHT GALLERY episode, Tim Riley's Bar starred the Great William Windom.

In addition to writing scrippts he exercised editorial oversight on all the the scripts that were produced.

Rod Serling's influence reverberated throughout television for thirty years and is still being felt, I think, to some degree. What a brilliant mind he had.

wasn't that a REMAKE OF AN ep from TZ:TOS?

sERLING didn't write many originals; most of his scripts were adaptations of short stories

The best episode of all on that show was the boy who saw the world coming to an end played by CLINT HOWARD.Hell, the stupid news media won't tell you if it happens.WHY? because it would cause a panic. so what would happen?, we will fall on top of each other jumping out of windows.
