The 40th Anniversary Edition (which I own and cherish) has been out of print for a long time and there's still a lot of unreleased music. What sort of condition are the original elements in? There's also all the stock library cues by folks like Goldsmith, René Garriguenc, and more. Van Cleave's "A Kind of a Stopwatch", Lucien Moraweck's "Queen of the Nile", and Goldsmith's opening cue from "The Long Morrow" (I believe it was a library cue used in a Lineup episode) are a few of many favorite unreleased bits.

I own the blu ray TZ collection and they all come with isolated scores , and its well worth the money .

I would love to see scores from TZ revamp from the 80s .... La La Land or Intrada are you listening ;-)

This has always been my wish too. I have a copy of the 40th Anniversary four disc set. I made covers and everything. I don't know if its because of lack of popularity, issue with rights or something else? LLL did a great job with The Outer Limits so why can't we have Twilight Zone, or the 80s TZ? Maybe someday.

most but not all.

TWILIGHT ZONE Bluray episodes with isolated scores
Season 1 (34 of 36) in AC3 (the other seasons in PCM)
Season 2 (22 of 29)
Season 3 (all 37)
Season 4 (all 18)
Season 5 (21 of 36)

Hmmm, that seems like a pretty good chunk of isolated scores. I wonder why they didn't provide isolated scores for every episode. Elements issues?

I'm gonna live dangerously and cross post. In entering FSM TWZ.

I think a box set a la St TOS would be a big seller. First it would be bought up by everyone here. Second imagine advertising just once during a syfy TWZ marathon. There were so many people watching twz marathon New Years. They were under 40 and watching marathons for years. LaLaLand, your next big project? Intrada?

I'm reading the book about the TZ scores from 1959-64, and am thinking 2 things:

--Why not a massive set? Massive sets seem to be all the rage now.

--Why haven't I ever watched any episodes besides "The Invaders"?

Well, I can probably remedy the latter; a rich and powerful soundtrack producer needs to work on the former....

What about a massive, massive set that incorporates season one and two of the 80's incarnation. Some of the best TV music I've ever heard (and my personal grail of grails). Craig, Christopher, Merle, Morton, Basil... It's incredible stuff, and thirty years old already.

I'd love a comprehensive set of these scores (the original series). As much as I appreciate the previous releases, it's frustrating that some really important scores were incomplete, such as "Walking distance" (Herrmann) and "A Hundred Yards over the Rim" (Steiner).

David, what is the book about the TZ scores?

John, I believe he's talking about this book:

Back on May 20 in a thread on the scores of the show, MV posted:
Trying to but there are some issues getting in the way

Perhaps one day

Gee, a book on TWILIGHT ZONE music by a PHD lecturer. I can imagine how spellbinding THAT would be. And such a deal at 43 smackers. I'd might pay that much for a book by Jon Burlingame or Jeff Bond but an unknown academic? Fuggedaboutit!

(I'm not usually that cheap or bitchy but I must have had a bad night.)

Eventhough most of it is on those isolated tracks, I would still like such a set. Same for Badalamenti's music for Twin Peaks, wouldn't mind a physical release dedicated to that.

Mike H, did you check out the thread link I provided??

I'd pay up to $100 for a definitive Twilight Zone set that contained every original score and a disc of the most common stock music cues.
