Tin's followup to popular Calling All Dawns is finally coming. From his newsletter:

Hello everyone!

I'm very excited to announce that my new album 'The Drop That Contained the Sea' will be released May 8th on iTunes, Amazon, and christophertin.com.

This is the long-awaited sequel to 'Calling All Dawns', and I'm very, very excited about it. There are 10 new pieces in 10 languages, featuring another all-star collection of world and classical artists, including the Soweto Gospel Choir, Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares, Anonymous 4, Dulce Pontes, and many more. Accompanying them is the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, which I conducted myself at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. I literally traveled around the world for this album: Istanbul, Johannesburg, Sofia, Beijing, Dubai, as well as four trips to London!

The theme of this one is water. Each piece deals with water in a different form, like clouds, snow, and rain. The pieces are ordered in the way that water flows through the world--streams lead to rivers, which pour into the ocean, and so forth. It's another complete song-cycle, just like 'Calling All Dawns'... only, more epic.

There will also be a CD edition available.

I just acquired this cd, and I have to say this song cycle is an absolute masterpiece. The final track, Waloyo Yamoni, just might be the most joy-filled concert piece that I have ever heard. Gorgeous melodies and orchestrations, and a beautiful performance. I'm completely bowled over by it.

His third song cycle isn't expected to be completed until 2018, but the orchestral overture is available now as a free download from Distinguished Concerts International New York. Go here for details:
