The instantly recognizable, as least as "it's that guy from that thing" and the always watchable and dynamic character actor James Rebhorn has passed. I liked this guy...always interesting to watch and always lending solid support onscreen.

I enjoyed him in many roles, but the one I most remember him for was when he played Harrison "Stormy" Storms against Kevin Pollak's Joe Shea during the unfolding of events concerning the Apollo 1 fire investigation in HBO's magnificent miniseries "From The Earth To The Moon". RIP.

Mr. Trask in the marvelous SCENT OF A WOMAN first brought James Rebhorn into my focus, and I looked forward to seeing him in anything after that.
Superb actor.
I shall miss him.

I don't think I've ever seen his work in any of those movies, and I never knew his name, but, as a LAW & ORDER maven, I've enjoyed him countless times as opposing counsel. And yes, 65 is way too damn young.

So it goes.

He was always a character that you liked to hate. Did he ever play a nice guy? Would love to see it.

Memorable performances of his for me were in SCENT OF A WOMAN and CARLITO'S WAY both with Al Pacino.

Great character actor! Rest in Peace Sir.

Yes, he certainly DID play good guys -- he's the father of the female lead of "Homeland." Or was.

I followed his career fairly closely without consciously following it, and first became aware of him around the early 1970s when he was on a soap I was watching -- I thought it was NBC's "Another World," but can't find any listing for it in his long IMDb list of credits. (They list only one credit from 1964 to 1980, so there's a big gap there, and I know he was very active during those years.) I've known his name for over 40 years and always thought of that name whenever I saw him (not like so many supporting actors whose face we recognize but not their name) -- and he was one very busy actor. I especially hate to see people die who are younger than me.

Very sad news. I remember him best from THE GAME, especially his funny dance at the party at the very end of the film. Just as solium wrote, I didn't connect his face to the name James Rebhorn until now.

RIP.
