Any word on a release date for the complete soundtrack. I thought Intrada would be releasing it. This would be a good time to release it. ie. Passover/Easter when the movie has been traditionaly on TV.

Yes, this is the one I'm really hoping to see soon, as well.

No word or rumor.

But I'm happy to wait. If the mystery label needs more time, it must be for good reasons.

Not Varese please! please!

Yes, Varese, who could do a 12 'tablet shaped' discs edition, with the complete original score, remastered LP release and lots of renditions from Mark Isham to Brian Tyler of the various themes and motifs, held within a figurine of Moses holding them aloft, for....$800.00.
Yes? wink

I contacted Intrada about a month ago. In the reply they said they understood my interest in this score but then went on to say that there was no news to tell about it. They mentioned the difficulties of obtaining rights, producing artwork etc. but didn't actually say whether or not they would be producing it or when it might appear.

I find it hard to believe that there are so many problems with this score when Intrada are turning out other scores all the time. Is it lack of interest on their part or an attempt to keep us all looking at Intrada's site and buying other recordings while we are waiting for TC?

I reckon it must be coming from Intrada, but soundtracks seem to take a good long while to travel through their system (they must be dealing with a LOT of titles). It'll arrive...sometime.

I heard they've had all kinds of problems with this release.

First they found the oxide of original masters had deteriorated and liquified into a blood red goo.

Then they had an infestation of flies at Intrada HQ that caused a week of delays.

After that, poor old Doug Fake had a problem with lice for a while, and Roger Feigelson came out in mass of boils, so they took time off work.

Then they had trouble with european distribution rights holders in France. Typical of the Frogs to cause trouble.

Then everything went into darkness when lightning during a thunder storm caused a week-long power outage in the Oakland office.

Soon after, the Intrada livestock, the office cat, came down with a fur ball problem, resulting in downtime because of time spent at the vet.

To top it all, their first-born final master got completely erased when their computer crashed.

Hopefully the problems are over now.

There was talk a while back about a possible re-recording of the score with the Prague Orchestra wasn't there? To my knowledge that was canned because of the rumor of the original score being released. IMHO I would love a re-recording of the score. Given the caliber of the current releases by Nic Raine and the COP, it would be great...

No, now it's time for Roger and Doug to roam around the Mojave desert for 40 years.

And I forgot to mention the success of their latest releases, that kept them extra busy as customers descended upon them like locusts.

I actually thought this was pretty funny, since I was buying it - at least the first 'problem'
Good show BW!

I would love for this to happen, too. Can't get enough of their wonderful recordings.

We've all been antsy about this one for YEARS. It was the reason I found these forums originally. I remember posting a question and getting a bit of a prickly answer from Joe Caps, who probably answered the question posed 50 previous times. That was years ago. Been a long wait. In that time we've seen a lot of classic Paramount titles making their way from the vault so it is hopefully in the chute...

I really hope that this release includes a re-mastered version of Elmer's Re-Recording. That would be my main incentive in purchasing it.
