RoboCop and Cliffhanger should get re-released. I know I miss out on both them Cliffhanger just sold out so fast and Roboocop too Please re-release them both it only two I need to get!!!!!!!
I got a mint second hand copy of Cliffhanger for a modest price. The deals are out there if one is patient.
I would love Intrada to bring out a new edition of Craig Safan's score SON OF THE MORNING STAR. A magnificent and elegiac score and possibly his magnum opus.
Glad to see all the love for Night Crossing. It is one of Goldsmith's very best scores, breathtaking at times. It should never go out of print. A house isn't a home without it
Totally agree NIGHT CROSSING should never be out of print. Also agree with another poster about bringing back Chris Young's FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC, one of his best to be sure.
I also think BODY DOUBLE should never be out of print, but I know that's the geek in me and you have to understand that it's been a holy grail of mine since the film came out - thank you INTRADA so very much for releasing this one...I would buy more copies to give to my friends and their families if you were to re-release it!
A Mary Queen Of Scots & The Last Valley double bill would be a great idea. Two fantastic John Barry scores. I have both of them & listen to them a lot, they really shouldn't be out of print. A two-fer, I'd have to double dip.
People have already mentioned lotsa great stuff deserving of reprint, like FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC and Intrada's Robert Folk and John Scott releases of yesteryears. Even Folk's tremendous SELECTED SUITES needs to see the light of day again, as that's a stunning album!
I'd love to throw in there Harry Manfredini's DEEP STAR SIX and two earlier Richard Band releases: Their old THE ALCHEMIST/HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW two-fer and MUTANT. Two of those have been released again in the subsequent twenty years (Mutant and the Alchemist) but for whatever reason sound vastly inferior to their original releases, sonically-speaking.
The Alchemist/Sorority album is what great thematic horror scoring is all about - Beautiful themes and orchestrations, lush sweeping "misterioso" passages balancing the dissonance and jabbing horror writing, etc. and MUTANT contains not only phenomenal action/horror writing but also a tremendous love theme and an end title cue that was, for a time, one of my most-played pieces. It's two minutes of the National Philharmonic Orchestra playing their hearts out and sounds like something that could have wrapped up a sweeping adventure score rather than a horror film. It's simply wonderful!
Alex North's 2001. All the Battlestar Galactica volumes. The Buck Rogers film (if re-released would be nice to have the TV series theme on there too, and any extras unearthed since the last release, so one could choose to program in the TV Pilot 'version' over the film. I've done that using the original CD release, and a few tracks from the latest 3-CD set, but for those who didn't get it the first time around, would be a nice treat).
