Whats this "expanded" version with a cover I've never seen before?

A lot of the links for this page don't seem to work for me. The one above does work, but some of the links from the main page do not. I tried different browsers.

Others may weigh in as I could be wrong (and don't want to denigrate SAE), but that looks like a b**t. Is it possible SAE just used incorrect cover art? I don't think they sell b**ts.

Well it was immediately taken down. Just curious. Thxs for the reply.

Maybe SAE will weigh in on what it was. I doubt they purposefully sell b**ts now. If that was indeed the cover art for the actual CD, I can't imagine anyone in the know would mistake it for a legit release. It was probably just an oversight somehow.

Question, where is "Desert Chase" edited exactly on the 2008 release? Is it at the 5:20 mark? While listening to it recently that moment felt like a patch job.

Its the same original Album version so yes its been edited. The 5:20 mark is right and a few other sections where some cutting done ie. if you compare it to the DCC version. I think Williams himself wanted this edited version on the set . Its according to his preference. Even the Making of Raiders book where he is interviewed he mentions that the Desert Chase music will be edited for the album. I do like the mastering on the Concorde sets BUT the Steve Hoffmann mix on DCC is more of the film mix version and its exactly the way Eric Tomlinson recorded the score.

Is it possible to create a playlist of the exact original LP program, using the DCC and Concord versions?

No.

In order to recreate “Marion's Theme” from the LP, you would have to blend the Concord “Marion's Theme” into “Flight To Cairo.” You would also have to trim the opening from “The Basket Game” and cut “A Washington Ending” off away from the “End Credits” to approximate the original album program.

Thanks. This is an instance where I wouldn't mind the edit as much if it weren't so audible. They should have mixed it better; there is a trumpet crescendo that gets cut off at the 5:20 mark, it doesn't die out naturally and so it comes across as an edit. I don't know how specific they could go in that mix but had they been able to give that some more reverb and by doing so extend it to quickly fade out in the next bar it wouldn't have been so obvious.

Thanks, Josh! Same takes of the tracks, though?
