Yikes, that wailing vocal in that sample is hideous sounding. Personally, I don't care for that kind of aimless, all-over-the-map vocalizing. It was tolerable in Troy but it was the bane of The Four Feathers' existence and irritating in Black Gold. Just not to my taste, although it may work well in the context of the film. Having said that, because it's Horner, I'll still be checking out this score. Beggars can't be choosers with Horner's sporadic output these days, and the rest of the sample does indeed sound quite promising.
