I love Star Trek Continues but I guess I don't understand the whole copyright thing?
How were they able to put up the latest episode without violating that 15 minute rule thing laid out by the Standards and Guidelines that everyone was supposed to adhere to and wasn't there a bunch of other stuff that they couldn't do with images, costumes and titles? And JOHN DE LANCIE is in it? I thought the rules said that no one ever affiliated with Star Trek could take part. The violations seem to be numerous if I'm understanding anything. If they are letting Mignogna do this I would think a lot of other "Fan Film" people who want to the same are probably very peed off right now.
I really don't understand any of it. Someone please enlighten me.
If it was up to me, I would have hired Mignogna and Team to produce the new Star Trek instead of what they seem to be doing with DISCOVERY. Vic and his team truly capture the essence of Trek or at least TOS Trek with great love, respect and precision.

It appears that Vic and his team had already been given the green light to do these episodes before the hammer came down, as I seem to recall they were going to do 13, but had to cut back in order to keep CBS happy.
As far as I'm concerned they did an outstanding job and brought the whole thing not only full circle but ended it on a rather high note.
I hope they decide to do something else perhaps even some sort of original project in the future.
