Anyone watch the show? Notice the score? Watching the show now! Loving the score. Has the rural vibe to it, nice warm orchestra, some very tense stuff...about what you might expect, but a lot better, because it's MB.

The show's pilot will air tomorrow on AMC... http://www.amctv.com/shows/turn/episodes/season-1/pilot Any news or more info about the score? Doubt anybody will release the score. AMC is the problem. They have turned EVERYONE down on Bear's score for Walking Dead. I've noticed if somebody else owns the property (like Lionsgate owned Mad Men) it comes out. When AMC owns it, nothing happens outside of a pop soundtrack.

I'm into historical stuff and I'm really interested in this show, even moreso because of it having good music! I hope I convince the wife to see it with me some time... Yavar

Update: My wife and I finally gave this show a try just a few evenings ago on Netflix (they have all of Seasons 1 and 2, though not Season 3 which aired earlier this year). IT. IS. AWESOME. It starts out a little bit slow and you may be confused at first, but stick with it through the end of the first season at least, and I think you'll be impressed. Season 2 may be even better. That's right. We both got so hooked on this show that we binge watched two seasons in just a few days. Honestly I have not a single criticism. All of the characters are so well drawn and all are fascinating shades of gray, no one wholly evil or wholly good. Every performance is excellent, and the period feel is achieved very convincingly. The portrayal of George Washington feels right somehow, based on my limited historical knowledge, yet also fleshed out and feeling like a real human, not an exalted historical figure. I think this has become my favorite current TV show, to be honest. I can't wait for season 3 to land on Netflix and the final season is set to air in about six months or so. Oh yeah! The music! It is wonderful, perfectly supporting the action and drama on screen. Don't go in expecting something particularly thematic (like McCreary's Outlander); that wouldn't work with the tone of the series I think. But it is powerful stuff, performed on real instruments. Very tense and exciting at times. And each season there are a handful (or two) of great standout cues that really come to the fore and command attention while watching the show (for example in episode 7 of season 1 there is a great cue leading up to a duel). Has anyone else seen this show and gotten as excited as me? I can't wait to see what Beltrami (with some help from others) does in the future for this. Yavar
