Which brings the number of Muppet movies to have all-score albums to, er, three (or four, if you count The Dark Crystal).

Well Muppet Treasure Island has a large chunk of the score too.

Wow! Real music! I knew Beck could write for an orchestra with his Percy Jackson score but this is something else from the samples.

Anyone know what the asterisks, + signs mean? I'm assuming it has something to do with using songs by other songwriters in the score (songs from these and earlier Muppets movies), but I don't see any explanation on the Intrada site.

Happy to place an order on this one smile

Yeah, there's a bizzare lack on info on that page. No track times, no even mention of which track are for what movie (granted it's obvious but still) and total times for each. No back cover scan like other discs have either.

Still, thee samples are surely great. Anyone who says 2014 has had a lack of good releases is clearly not actually listening to any of it.

For those interested, the + and ++ are for additional composers (can't remember who offhand and the book is at home). The * is on tracks that contain melodies from the songs by Bret McKenzie.

Track 2 does include the bits from "Together Again," originally in The Muppets Take Manhattan and reprised in this movie. It's just not noted/credited.

Well Muppet Treasure Island has a large chunk of the score too.

We now have large chunks of score for all the Muppet movies. Muppets From Space was done by Varese, and the OSTs from The Muppet Movie, Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island are all back in print from various places. They all include a generous amount of score.

If only we could get reissues (or expansions, but I'm not greedy) of The Great Muppet Caper and The Muppets Take Manhattan - on CD!

Did anyone else pick up this CD? I got it as a present earlier this month and have enjoyed listening through it. While The Muppets Most Wanted music is good, I feel like (in addition to the song albums) the 2011 The Muppets had a much stronger soundtrack & score. While there are the obligatory mickey-mousing tracks, things like "Under The Stars", "Moral Support", and "We Fail Together" have a touching or majestic feel. Plus, the quotes from the songs help bring a cohesiveness to the album. Overall, I recommend this album for anyone who enjoys Christophe Beck's music.

I wasn't aware that Disney had bought the Muppets characters!

Yeah, that was around 10 years ago. Either way, the 2 recent films still seem to have The Muppet spirit about them.

Disney bought the Muppets in 2004.

Forgot to mention Jack Black Attack - great track, (probably) in homage to old kung fu movies.

I have this CD too and enjoy it.
I agree that the first score is stronger and more enjoyable (the promo has more music and
alternates) but I like the new sequel theme and the big Russian choral stuff and action music
is pretty cool. I like Beck music too.

Yeah It's a great CD.
I asked over on Intada's board and never got a response....
...."there's some odd credits in the book -- it mentions "additional writer" for certain cues. Does this simply mean co-composer?"

I thought/assumed those credits were for Beck quoting songs or old Muppet themes?

As far as I can tell, the only songs he quotes are 'We're Doing a Sequal' and 'Life's a Happy Song', both of which are noted and not the cues mentioned.

"together again" from Muppets Take Manhattan (and reprised in Muppets Most Wanted) is also quoted in a track from that score.
