THE BATTERED BASTARDS OF BASEBALL---movie underway based on the documentary about the nation's only independent minor league baseball team, the Portland Mavericks, which was formed in 1973 by Bing Russell, actor and father of Kurt Russell. Justin Lin (THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS) is the director/producer.

HOMELAND---Mandy Patinkin commented on if Brody might return, "I would say so. I don't think it will be a regular occurrence, but I think it will be an emotional, occasional occurrence.".

THE MONEY PIT---NBC sitcom remake of the 1986 movie that starred Tom Hanks and Shelley Long.

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED: 50 YEARS OF BEAUTIFUL---NBC special celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Swimsuit issue which has made it the most-profitable single issue magazine in the world with over $1 billion in sales according to FORBES. The best-selling issue was the 1989 25th anniversary issue with Kathy Ireland on the cover. Premiere is February 3.

THE WALKING DEAD---a future episode will reveal Michonne's life before the zombie plague.

GOTHAM---the Fox prequel series about a young Detective James Gordon will have The Penguin as its first villain.

24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY---Stephen Fry will play the British prime minister in the Fox miniseries.

THE FLASH---The CW spin-off series pilot will have two villains. Killer Frost will be played by Danielle Panabaker (FRIDAY THE 13TH), and Professor Zoom will be played by Rick Cosnett (THE VAMPIRE DIARIES).

INTRUDERS---BBC America series about a secret society whose members achieve immortality by taking over the bodies of others. John Simm (DOCTOR WHO), Mira Sorvino (MIMIC) and James Frain (THE TUDORS) star.

AGENT X---Sharon Stone stars in this TNT pilot about a secret agent who answers to the first female vice president to protect the Constitution.

STAR WARS REBELS---executive producer Simon Kinberg said about the animated series, "We will see many things that are famous to Star Wars, but have not appeared on screen in a while. Star Destroyers, TIE Fighters, and Stormtroopers - basically the Empire is back and that is a big change, since, for many years, we have only seen the Republic in action. The tone of the series is also different. The Clone Wars got very dark as we headed towards the end of the war and the downfall of the Jedi. Star Wars Rebels brings back the banter and faster pace that the original films were famous for."

PAN---Hugh Jackman will play Blackbeard the Pirate in the origin movie about Peter Pan.

GHOST IN THE SHELL---live-action movie underway based on the anime with Rupert Sanders (SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN) is the director.

FLESH AND BONE---Starz series about a troubled ballerina who joins a prestigious New York ballet company.

THE BABADOOK---Australian horror movie about a story book monster that stalks a woman and her young son.

That's an interesting choice...Fry has had great success as a "serious" actor but mainly on stage rather than on TV...I wonder how audiences who have only seen the comic side of him will react to him?

The latter sounds like a much better idea than the former.
