and my love for Walker's theme for the "Batman-Superman Adventures" knows no bounds - to capture the essence of both characters so clearly and simply, and to encompass it all in about a minute - it's brilliant

I never thought this would be on a CD.

Has there ever been another Batman title sequence that opens with little Bruce kneeling over his parents bodies??!

Oh, that's great news! I always wondered why Netflix had other DC animated series, but not S:TAS. I will look for it now on Amazon Prime.

Exciting news!!! Especially for S:TAS, which was long overdue. The track listing on that one looks outstanding, imo. Plenty of great scores featured.

Anybody find it to be a funny coincidence that the day this was announced the "Batman vs Superman" movie was delayed a year later?

A few new details from the official LLL press release today can add:

Superman: TAS
* More than 5 hours of music on 4 CDs.

* 20 full episode scores, including the epic 3-part Batman crossover "World's Finest”.

* Includes the Emmy-nominated score to "Little Girl Lost" by Lolita Ritmanis.

* Features Shirley Walker's original, unused ending for the series finale, "Legacy."

Big, bold orchestral scores were one of the highlights of this magnificent animated series. Liner notes by John Takis take the listener inside the great city of Metropolis with exclusive interviews with some of the composers. Art direction by Jim Titus is nothing short of SUPER!

As an added bonus Michael, Lolita and Kris have agreed to sign the first 300 units purchased directly through the La-La Land website at no extra charge. Quantities are limited and you are not guaranteed a signed copy.

Batman: BATB

By the way, I have discovered a quick bit of STAS liner notes errata to correct that unfortunately slipped through. In the description for APOKOLIPS...NOW!, Ron Perlman is credited as the voice of Orion. Perlman DID portray Orion in future DCAU episodes, but in this first appearance the character was voiced by Steve Sandor. Mea culpa.

Superman:TAS should be a great release. Maybe volume 2 (if one is made) could have "Identity Crisis", "Brave New Metropolis", "Fun and Games", "The Late Mr. Kent", "Knight Time" and maybe "Stolen Memories". As it stands though, there are lots of great selections on this release. Hope to see more music from B:TAS (and a TAOBAR soundtrack) released this year too! smile
