I'm gonna wait until I see the film to hear this. I'm very curious to see how they pull this adaptation off. I've read a few comments around here about the score, most of which have been quite positive (sounds like Zimmer in Pearl Harbour mode maybe?), so I hope this one comes to me as a pleasant surprise.
movie is quite awful with a silly mix of mysteries of fate, good vs evil and love story beyond time... and the score is non-stop-strings-all-over-the-place. Maybe in CD it gets better.
So has anyone actually listened to this? Is it any good? How does it fit into Gregson-Williams' (or Z's) body of work?
I wasn't very impressed. Most of it was pretty minimalist like I forget I am listening to anything. A few of the longer tracks towards the end are better but still very much typical Remote Control Productions sound. I didn't notice much use of a knockout central theme anywhere.
Does anyone know if this is still in print? It appears that Amazon no longer has it in stock, and eBay prices seem to have risen to several times the MSRP.
