I would really appreciate if anyone could identify these pieces.

The first one is from a film 'The Beaches'. You can hear it at approx 1:21:36 (see below) Someone suggested Delerue, but I am not sure.

There's also a song that is identical to it by Henry Mancini called 'I Miss You (Robyn's Song)' from Tom and Jerry OST. It's a beautiful piece and I'd love to know where it was adapted from.

The second piece is from a television program called 'Mysteries and Scandals'which you can watch below. It's played couples of times during the episode: 17:00 and with better quality very short during the ending credits. It's either adapted or was just some library music I guess.

There's a song from Xena that is almost identical to it. I guess it would be a safe assumption to make that both these pieces were adapted from another song.

I think the Delerue is nothing more than a coincidence. These are familiar motifs he's used before in other scores. Off the top of my head it was part of the main theme from his rejected score to "Something Wicked This Way Comes", for example. I know I've heard two of them it in other scores by him.

I just listened to the main theme from the score you had mentioned, but it doesn't really sound like it. I'd say it's slightly similar.
