Howdy all, I've been enjoying the thread about Golden Age composers (with whom I have little familiarity). I was thinking about purchasing Steiner's "King Kong" and Korngold's "Robin Hood" from Naxos, since they're dirt cheap. I've read that they were originally produced under the Marco Polo label with great liner notes, but under the Naxos label which they are produced now, the notes have been significantly reduced. However, one of the comments at Amazon states that some of the old liner notes can be found online. Does anyone here know where such can be found *legally* online? I love reading liner notes! I've tried Naxos web page, but it is hard to navigate, and the pages for these works do not have a liner note download.

Anyway, I figured if anyone knew about such things, it might be someone(s) who reads here. So, let me know anyone here does. And thanks in advance!

Robin Hood liner notes:

http://www.naxos.com/mainsite/blurbs_reviews.asp?item_code=8.225268&catNum=225268&filetype=About this Recording&language=English#

(There is a link on the album's page - 'About this Recording' in blue letters below the front cover!)

About the "Kong" CD I'm not sure if the Naxos re-release omits anything of importance - I think James D' Arc's essay, John Morgan's reconstruction notes and Ray Faiola's cue-by-cue analysis are all there but since I have the original Marco Polo release I could be wrong...

Naxos.com has the large majority of liner notes of its titles, as does Chandos.net for Chandos discs.
Would every label do this, especially ones that sell digital files. It's pretty ridiculous to have to search all over the Internet for something as simple as, ya know, a composer...
