Really interesting video with a good selection of composers.

Great video. I wish there was somthing like that in the 40's.
Imagine composers like Korngold, Rozsa, Steiner, Herrmann, Newman, Young talking together.
Or in the 70's or 80's Barry, Williams, Goldsmith, Schifrin, Poledouris, Mancini, Kamen.
If there was Williams with them I guess they would pretty much show him their admiration all the time. I wonder how much does Williams really struggle to get a theme. Damn he has written so many great ones.

I'm enjoying this but I find it ironic how cheesy the music they use in the video is (when it isn't in a film clip). Considering that we are watching a video about film composers you'd expect they could find something a little more interesting in the library.

Using better music, sadly, would cost money. Especially from the library...

My one dream is to have a 1-hour sitdown with Williams to talk about his career. I don't fawn and swoon; that's not my angle in the interviews I've conducted with, say, James Horner, James Newton Howard or Elliot Goldenthal. I'm more interested in getting in-depth and being 'case-specific'. Hollywood-type swooning is very far removed from the Norwegian sentiment.

I think it would take a lot more than a one hour sitdown with anyone when doing an indepth interview. It may take a series of face to face, telephone, and email correspondence to truly get to the meat-and-potatoes of a career and their creative process.

I loved the Roundtable from last year, when Desplat and Beltrami got into that fist fight over who's Varese SPARTACUS Love Theme rendition was better!

I enjoyed the video. Alan Silvestri has the voice of an 18 year old kid.

I wonder if Mr. Newman hurt his middle finger conducting too enthusiastically!

Absolutely. But I doubt Williams would be willing to do that for anyone when he's so opposed to an autobiography. Even his closest family.
