This years pick is a very personal and idiosyncratic one. Past winners have been honored for a vast and varied body of work.
This year, the honoree is being feted for his work on behalf of one composer: John Barry.
No one on this board has done more than WOOLSTON to promote the musical genius of M. Barry - who also happens to be my favorite composer.
Steven has written extensively about the man and his music and he has done it in non-hagiographic manner. SW has written with the grace and humor and objective analysis of a true English gentleman.
John Barry is indeed fortunate to have such as champion as Steven Woolston.
As last year's winner, I am pleased to pass on the award trophy to WOOLSTON so that he may have his named engraved upon it, with all of the past winners.
